CENTRA 4 Meeting will be held at Phoenix JEJU, Jeju Island. The venue is located in 107 Seopji Koji-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si.

Air Travel

A. Direct Int’l Flight to Jeju Int’l Airport

• From Incheon Int’l Airport to Gimpo Airport (Domestic)
  On arrival at Incheon Int’l Airport, take an airport limousine bus or AREX (Airport Railroad train) to Gimpo Airport (Domestic). It takes about 35 minutes.
  • Option 1. Airport Limousines
    The airport limousine bus runs every day from 04:58 to 22:17 at 35 minute intervals.

Ground Transportation from Jeju Airport to Phoenix JEJU

Jeju Airport is located about 45 kilometers away from Phoenix JEJU. There are many options to reach venue.

• by Bus: 90 minutes from airport
  Express Bus (101, 111), Boarding at Airport Gate 1(front) (Jeju Int’l Airport -> Intercity Bus Terminal -> Use Ilju Ave. Bus Line)

• by TAXI: 50 minutes from airport, one-way is typically KRW 37,000 (/ USD 30~35)

Useful Information on Travelling in Korea

Weather in late April

Mostly mild. Warm enough to spend in long-sleeved shirts during the daytime. Light jackets recommended in case it gets colder in the mornings and evenings. (April average temperature : 18~22 C) Korea Meteorological Administration

Electricity in Korea

2-flat-pin plugs (plug type C and type F) are used in Korea. The standard voltage in Korea is 220 volts at 60 Hertz, and the outlet has two round holes. Most hotels may provide outlet converters for 110 and 220 volts. Participants are recommended to check with the hotel beforehand.

Cell Phone Rental

You may rent a cell phone at the Incheon International Airport. Users can rent a handset and pay rental and call charges upon returning the phone.Applicants require identification, credit card, and a service contract (available at the booth).

International dialing code in Jeju, Korea is +82-64 (Area code). Please omit (0) when dialing from overseas.

Tip & Tax

Tip - Tipping is not a regular practice in Korea. Service charges are included in your bill for rooms, meals and other services at hotels and upscale restaurants. Koreans occasionally do tip when they are especially pleased with the service they receive.

Tax - Visitors can receive a refund on a receipt for a minimum purchase of KRW 50,000(around US$52). To receive this refund, present refund receipts with the purchased goods at the customs desk at the Incheon International Airport when departing.These receipts can be cashed in at the Cash Refund Office in front of the Airport Duty Free Shop.

Business Hours

Government office hours are usually from9:00 am to 06:00 pm on weekdays and closed on weekends.Banks are open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays and closed on Saturday and Sunday. Major stores are open every day from 10:30 am to 08:00 pm including Sundays.

Currency

Major foreign currencies that can be exchanged at banks, hotels, and the airport include the US Dollar, Japanese Yen, Euro, and UK Sterling. Most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept major international credit cards including Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Master Card, and JCB. Foreign-issued ATM cards may have limited use.

ATM (Automated Teller Machines)

Travelers who carry internationally recognized credit cards can get a cash advance in Korea Won from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) installed at airports, major hotels, department stores, subway stations and tourist attractions. ATMs are in operation 24 hours a day. Most large stores, hotels and restaurants in Korea accept major international credit cards. However it is advisable to carry some cash, since many smaller establishments and stores are unlikely to accept credit cards.
